A while ago I explained why I left the church I was attending, and now I am beseeching you all to also leave ANY church that is not preaching the imminent return of the Lord or against sin. We are living in the last days where not only has God Himself poured out a strong delusion on those who love not the truth and take pleasure in unrighteousness (2 Thessalonians chapter 2) but the “church” as we knew it is falling away from sound doctrine. It’s apostate. Do not be deceived. Mainstream Christianity is not of God. The average church isn’t even following the teachings of Jesus Christ! They’re just going through the motions. They’re just religious.. They just love keeping their traditions!
“These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.” (Matthew 15:8-9)
So consider your church (and examine yourselves!). Everyone (for the most part) claims to be a Christian (or a Christian fellowship) but there’s no fruit. Your lifestyle has to line up with the bible. Merely believing in God (or in the idea of Jesus Christ) may make you the average “Christian” but it doesn’t make you a BORN AGAIN believer.
God is HOLY, so if you TRULY believe (and know Him) you will turn from your sin and from any other thing (including your church!) that offends Him. Don’t be “church people”—People who swear that they’re children of the Most High God but can continue on in all manner of sin and worldliness with no conviction after service.
“If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.” (Hebrews 12:7-8
And just so we’re clear, I’m not trying to paint every church with the same brush. There are some sanctified people of God congregating together throughout the world. But those fellowships are rare. So praise God if you are apart of one and pray if you aren’t to be led and connected. But in the meantime, leave the games behind. Stop playing church and get serious about your life.
With nothing but love,
